GPI & BAUI University Joint Panel Discussion on Security in the Era of Rising Violent Extremism
Global Policy Institute and BAU International University co-hosted a panel discussion on January 24, 2017, with the title “Security in the Era of Rising Violent Extremism”. A group of academics, diplomats, business people, media members, and students attended the event. Among the panelists, security expert and the CEO of City Security Group (CSG) Mr. Osman Ozturk emphasized the need for an international cooperation in order to tackle global terrorism. GPI Fellow and the President of the American Studies Center (AMERS) of Bahcesehir University Dr. Burak Kuntay said that the mistakes made a hundred years ago may ruin a region and still cause complications today. Paolo von Schirach, the President of the Global Policy Institute, pointed to the rise in the number of individual radicalization in Western countries.
