On May 16th, 2019 the International Council for Trade & Development, in partnership with the Global Policy Institute (GPI) and Bay Atlantic University, held an event hosted by GPI focused on what steps are needed to do business in Hong Kong.
The Panelists included:
Hilary Sadler, Esq., Senior International Trade Specialist, U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration;
Emerson Blais, Principal & Co-Founder, Causeway Education, (Hong Kong);
Jean-Robert D. Baguidy, Access to Capital Team, Minority Business Development Agency, Office of Business Development;
Dr. Connell Wise, Founder & Principal, Connell Wise & Associates, Limited (Hong Kong) moderated the event.
Paolo von Schirach, President of the Global Policy Institute, delivered opening remarks.
The panelists delved into the complexities of doing business abroad and explained how U.S. Government agencies can and will assist American companies interested in exploring business opportunities –in terms of sales and investments– in Hong Kong, and elsewhere.
Hong Kong based Emerson Blais, connected to the event via Skype, provided a first-hand vivid account of the multiple opportunities available in Hong Kong, a sophisticated, global business hub, including the bonus of excellent amenities on par with other global cities. The panelists indicated that the best sectors for US investors include IT, software and financial services.
