GPI-BAU Talk Series: U.S.-Led Success in Kosova: From Intervention to Independence
We’re excited to invite you to a special virtual event featuring Ambassador Drilon Gashi, Chief of Mission and Ambassador of the Republic of Kosova in Warsaw, Poland.
Ambassador Drilon Gashi supported Kosova during the early days of its independence and now serves as its envoy to Poland. In conjunction with U.S.-European Relations studies at Bay Atlantic University, Ambassador Gashi will share his experiences in the diplomatic process leading to Kosova’s independence in 2008, as well as the country’s evolution and achievements in the years since. He will also assess the current outlook, to include enhanced foreign policy efforts, prospects for joining the UN, EU, and NATO, and thoughts on navigating the present geopolitical environment.
This is a unique opportunity to gain an inside perspective on diplomacy, international relations, and the evolving role of the U.S. in Southeast Europe.

Ambassador Gashi is an international affairs professional and diplomat currently serving as the Chief of Mission and Ambassador of the Republic of Kosova in Warsaw, Poland. He established Kosova’s first-ever diplomatic mission in the country and leads efforts to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties while advancing Kosova’s aspirations for EU and NATO membership. Previously, he worked in international development and urban policy with Deloitte and the World Bank in Washington, D.C., supporting governments in over 15 countries on economic growth, infrastructure, and climate resilience. Earlier in his career, he consulted for the public, private, and NGO sectors in Kosova and the wider Balkans, and advised the Prime Minister of Kosova on communications and governance reform.

Jason is an international affairs professional with nearly 20 years of experience in diplomacy, development, and defense. A former U.S. diplomat, he has worked on issues ranging from NATO negotiations and humanitarian assistance in Africa to human rights reporting in Syria and support for Kosova’s independence. Beyond government service, he has led international development and strategy consulting projects with Deloitte and other companies, including efforts on Ghana’s energy transition and Ukraine’s wartime economy. He now leads consulting and career services at Precision Talent Solutions, supporting senior government and military officials with career transitions. Jason brings these firsthand experiences into the classroom, pairing engaging lectures and discussions with practical simulations to help students understand not just global events, but the dynamics behind them.
