How to Make Cities More Competitive
On March 13, as part of the GPI EXCHANGE series, Mr. Muhammad Naveed Iftikhar, international urban policy expert, gave a presentation on “How to Make Cities More Competitive”.
Iftikhar explained how urbanization has brought economic, social and political mobility to the developed world. But now the goal is to make cities in developing countries into the drivers of future growth and prosperity.
With this critical goal in mind, forward looking city governments and other organizations working with city governments in emerging countries seek the advice of professionals from various disciplines to help them devise effective urban governance and sustainable development road maps.
Professor Sebnem Sahin moderated the event. GPI President Paolo von Schirach delivered opening remarks.
