Doing Business in Asia

How to enter and prosper in the vast Asian markets

On February 22, 2019 the Global Policy Institute (GPI), and Bay Atlantic University (BAU), in cooperation with Connell Wise & Associates, hosted a timely panel on Doing Business in Asia.

Paolo von Schirach, Global Policy Institute President, delivered welcoming remarks.

The panelists engaged the audience by discussing a number of key issues when it comes to doing business in Asia, including:

  • Common mistakes when expanding to Asia Pacific
  • Setting up legal entities – do’s and don’ts
  • Hiring options: contractors, employees or PEO
  • Future of trade in Asia. Knowing which international norms are relevant
  • Managing APAC payroll and benefits – especially when you are in multiple countries
  • How employment law differs within APAC, the latest updates
  • Understanding local accounting, tax and compliance requirements

The panel was tailored to individuals and/or companies looking at becoming exporters. The session also proved beneficial to those who already do business abroad but are looking for support to grow their business across the Asian region.
