On September 26, 2024 at 12:00 PM (EST) the Global Policy Institute (GPI) and Bay Atlantic University (BAU) will hold an event titled “Alberta, Canada: America’s Energy Partner ” via Zoom and in-person at BAU, 8th floor conference room.
When people think about major oil and gas producers and exporters, they think of OPEC and Russia. But in the case of the U.S. our main energy partner is Alberta, Canada, our northern neighbor, and strong ally. Notwithstanding the astonishing increase of domestic oil and gas production due to the fracking revolution, to satisfy its large energy requirements, the U.S. needs more. Most of the imported oil comes from Alberta. It is transported from Canada to America through different modalities such as rail and pipelines. How big is U.S.- Alberta energy trade? Is it mutually advantageous? Are there any impediments affecting its growth? Join us as we discuss the key aspects of this strategic relationship encompassing business, trade, and Hemispheric Energy Security with a true expert on this critically important subject.
