Professor Renato Caputo is currently Director of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Diplomatic Academy and Adjunct Professor of “International Law and Security Regulations (IUS/13)”, as part of the Second Level Master in Information Science for Security, at the University of Novedrate eCampus (CO). He is a member of the Advisory Board of the European Intelligence Academy of Athens (Greece), Member of the Scientific Committee of the Review “The Criminal Law of Globalization” published by Pacini Giuridica and Member of the Scientific Committee, Historical-Diplomatic Area, of the Review “Europea” published by ARACNE Editrice. From June 2014 to July 2017 he worked as a State official with diplomatic accreditation in Uzbekistan. He was a member of the Cabinet Office of the Minister of Defence. Prof. Renato Caputo received his Master’s Degree in Law. He attended the Professional Course in “International Law of Armed Conflict” at the University of Trieste, Gorizia. He obtained the “Grado en Derecho” and the “Máster Universitario en Acceso a la Abogacía” at the Universidad Nebrija of Madrid (Spain). He attended the Second Level Master’s Degree in Management at the University of Bari, discussing a thesis on “The Information System for the Security of the Republic and Human Resources Management”. He attended the “Course of Design and Evaluation of Learning” at the University of Foggia. He received the Honoris Causa Doctorate from the Universidad Analitica Constructivista de Mexico.He was actively involved in post-conflict peacemaking and reconstruction activities in many areas of the world. Some of the places where he worked professionally for significant periods are: Albania, Eritrea, Kosovo and Iraq. He was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2006, and numerous other Italian and foreign honours.
